A failed download almost always falls into one of a small number of specific causes, not a generic "something's wrong." Here's every real cause and what to actually check.
Invalid URL
Reason
The link is incomplete, malformed, or missing https://.
Solution
Copy the full link again from the address bar or the platform's Share menu.
Private or restricted content
Reason
The video belongs to a private account or requires sign-in to view.
Solution
Only public content can be processed. Ask the owner to make it public, or use content you have direct access to.
Deleted or unavailable content

If the platform itself is the problem
Sometimes a downloader that normally works for a platform stops working entirely, not for one video, but for all of them. That usually means the platform changed something about how its pages are structured, which breaks extraction until the downloader is updated to match. Check the platform's own downloader page on this site: if it says the downloader is temporarily paused, that's exactly what's happening, and it's not specific to your link.
Before assuming the tool is broken
- Confirm the video still plays normally when you open the original link directly.
